Located to the north - east of Caraz city, on Santa Cruz valley and Cedros valley, this circuit offer magnificent
View about glacier lakes and lagoons, wild animals, that live on the high sites, for traversing and climbing
Alpamayo require a wide climbing knowledge, good shape technique and a high experience walking with crampons, from
the Alpamayo summit you will see major part of Cordillera Blanca, colorful glacier lakes, which are lies at foot
of huge peaks, at the end trip Andean circuit we will visit beautiful azure lake.

Program
Day 1: Huaraz at (3100m) – Caraz at (2200m) – Cashapampa village at (2970m) - Llamacoral
camp at (3760m). (Trek time: 4 hours (walk up) / driving time: 3 hours
Departure from Huaraz at 7.00 am. we will drive to the north side of Huaraz along Callejon de Huaylas on paved
road until Caraz at 2200m, then we will deviate to the north – east on dirt road until Cashapampa village at
2970m. From this point we will start walking up along narrow Santa Cruz valley with sparkling waterfalls, groves &
high land bushes and trees until reach a wide meadow, where is located our campsite with spectacular view to the
background about mount Taulliraju. Overnight camp at Llamacoral.
Day 2: Llama Coral at (3760m) - Base Camp mount Alpamayo at (4330m). (Trek time: 5 hours
(walk up).
After our breakfast at 8:00e will walk up along quebrada Santa Cruz on the way passing by two beautiful glacier
lake (Ichiccocha & Jatuncocha, that mean small and big lakes) until Quisuar then we will walk up on several
switchbacks until reach Alpamayo view point then we will continue walking up on pleasant grass valley until Base
Camp at 4300m. Overnight at Alpamayo base camp.
Day 3: Base Camp at (4300m) - Moraine Camp at (4900m) - Alpamayo high Camp at (5400m).
Climbing time: 8 hours (ascent).
This day after our breakfast at 6:00 am, we usually start walking up the steep path with porters help until reach
moraine camp at 4900m, from this place we will put on our every climb gear and tools, then we will start climbing
up toward high camp over the glacier with porters help, It’s a big day; the high camp is usually located on the
high pass between Alpamayo and Quitaraju. In the afternoon we will enjoy gorgeous west wall of mount Alpamayo with
spectacular sunset. Overnight at Alpamayo high camp.
Day 4: High Camp at (5400m) - Alpamayo summit (5947m) – high Camp at (5400m). (Climbing
time: 14 hours (ascent & descent).
Summit day, Rising early at 1:00 am, we cross the glacier between camp and the bergschrund at the base of the
Southwest Face, from it we will start climbing up the huge flouted ice wall o directa frances route with 500m of
ice wall, with 60° - 70° & 80° pitches, After climbing for many hours we will reach the top, where we are going to
have the most spectacular view about glacier lakes, several snowcapped peaks around us as: Huandoy, Pisco, Santa
Cruz, Artesonraju, Pirámide Garcilazo, group Pucajircas, Taulliraju and Huascaran mountains . We usually Descent
on the same route with rappels until High Camp. Overnight at Alpamayo high camp.
Day 5: High Camp at (5400m) – Jancarurish camp at (4250m). (Climbing time: 7 hours
(descent).
After our breakfast at 7.00am we will start descending, on Alpamayo plateau glacier to the west until Jancarurish
campsite on the way to camp we will see the amazing pyramidal shape of mount Alpamayo. Overnight camp at
Jancarurish.
Day 6: Jancarurish camp at (4250m) – Vientunan pass at (4750m) – Osoruri camp at (4600m).
(Trek time: 5 hours (walk up/ walk down).
After our hearty breakfast we will walk down along Cedros ravine, enjoying on the way Auquispuquio archaeological
site, the we will climb up on switchbacks on steep hill until reach the Vientunan pass at 4750m, after spending
short time to take pictures we will continue walking down until Osoruri campsite. Overnight camp at
Osoruri.
Day 7: Osoruri camp at (4600m) – Cullicocha pass at (4850m) – Wishcash camp at (4400m. (Trek
time: 5 hours (walk up / walk down).
After our breakfast at 9:00 am, we will follw walking up toward the pass on steep terrain until reach the
Cullicocha pass at 4850m, then we will go to view point to see the impressive lake Cullicocha with azure water,
and with exiting Santa Cruz peak to the background, where also we will have lunch, and the we will continue with
our trek until Wishcash campsite at 4400m. Last night camp at Wishcash.
Day 8: Wishcash camp at (4400m) – Hualcayan village at (3139m) – Huaraz. (Trek time: 2 hours
(walk down)/ driving time: 3 hours).
After our delicious breakfast at our camp we will walk down on switchback trail, until mountain village of
Hualcayan at 3139m, where our private transport is waiting us to drive Huaraz.
